I am owner of sony vaio srx77 model, and i have a problem with the tilts.
They are weaks and when i put the monitor too behind, it slowly slips and stops only when it touches on the writing desk.
do you understand the problem? (sorry for my not so good english…)
is there an howto that explains how to take apart or fix the tilts?
if not, how can i fix anyway the problem?
You need to replace one or both of the hinges. I think the best thing to do would be to replace just the right hinge. All the LCD wiring runs through the left one and it might be quite difficult. I’ve done this myself with my SRX77 and the tension is fine.
It looks like you still have to remove the front LCD cover. four screws are covered by rubber feet.
Next you have to remove the two large rubber feet adjacent to the battery on the right side (or both). With this done you now have access to all the screws holding the hinge on. Remove. Replace. Reassemble.
