What about the notices “Apple” and “Dell” damaged rechargeable batteries built by SONY?
Press says, more damaged SONY batteries are not expected. What do you think, perhaps SONY products like the TR can be affected?!
Anybody toasted his lap while using TR laptops (except hot harddrive )?

I’m curios to hear your opinion/news/internal informations.

I’m very curious to hear more about this as well. I wonder if Sony will make an announcement stating that their batteries that have been installed in Sony Vaio laptops are either good OR bad. I want to hear it one way or another from them.

My battery has been getting much warmer than normal lately, and I sure hope it doesn’t have any relation to these other Sony batteries catching on fire.

I own a japanese version and can imagine my one is possibly concerned.

As do I. I’m not too worried, for all the millions of batteries that are being replaced only a handfull have exploded. I guess my non-oem replacement battery will be my main battery since Sony didn’t make it

The situation has changed.  Sony has stated that they will recall a number of their batteries but they have not specified how many or which models.  I signed up on their support site to be notified if my T370 needs a new battery.  If you go to sony.com and search for “battery recall”, you will find the page.  I’m sure the risk is minimal in any laptop owned, but i won’t pass up a chance for a new battery.

I heard about the recall on gizmodo.com (or maybe engadget.com).

I beleive the T370P might be one of the laptops which is having its battery recalled. You can check your battery here.

Luckly I think my TR3 is safe!

yup, my battery has been recalled.  Oh well, looks like i get a fresh new battery.  I hope this huge hit to sony’s revenues won’t affect new laptop design.  I’m probably in the market for the successor to the TX series.  I love their ultra-portable lines. No other manufacturer has this much style.  Not even apple.
