Hello, My Vaio’s motherboard died.. I have a VAIO PCG-TR3A model. I need to replace the board.. Where’s the best place to buy a new motherboard from? Any idea how much it will set me back? If it’s alot I’m just going to sell the laptop.. any takers?

Mine died, too, and I bought this Vaio new in July 2004.  I’ve already had to replace the hard drive after owning it only one year AND A WEEK.  Computer repair folks at Geek Squad told me it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop that replace the motherboard in my TR3AP2!  That’s crazy.  I have over $2500 invested already!! :cry:

There is some truth to that.  You can get one from Impact Computers for about $700 - http://www.impactcomputers.com/a-8068-353-a.html .  If you get lucky and can snag one on ebay, you should be able to get it for less than half that.
