And follow through with the download and creating your Windows Live ID (aka your old Passport ID if you have one) and you’ll finally be given a key to use.

i installed this on a my daughter’s pc at home. I had to disable the sound in bios to stop it crashing then download the updated file. i also had to install avast anti virus instead of AVG.
But now it is working fine and is pretty impressive, especially the voice recognition. It seems to allow my daughter to play all her games of various ages and she is thrilled with the new ms game.While we have the dual boot option we havent used xp yet since installing it.
Sadly for most people though i doubt whether their machines will be capable of running it. 1gb of ram and a pretty superior graphics card are the minium, and since most people nowadays have onboard graphics and only 500mb of ram they will miss out.

On the contrary, I installed it on my S170 laptop with 768MB RAM that has a 64MB 9700 ATI and it worked just fine.  Certain processes seemed quicker than XP actually… but since it wasn’t fully supported with all VAIO apps (volume control and brightness) i uninstalled Vista.  I could have probably put up with the little bugs, but didn’t feel like wasting time and reinstalling everything all over again.  I like Vista’s looks but love XP’s stability.

Anybody having problems with scrolling on their mouse? 

I have Logitech’s Bluetooth V270 and the scroll will not work, other USB mice scroll fine in Vista, and the V270 scrolls fine on the same machine running XP, so it appears to be related to Bluetooth in Vista.  Hard to believe one of the most basic features of Windows is crippled in Vista…

Logitech’s support says it is an OS related issue and will not help, their mouse software also does not clear up the issue…
