I’m thinking about picking up a Tx750 from P1 sometime soon and was looking over their extended warranty plans….

Just curious, is it worth getting?

Has anyone here ever needed to use it?

What exactly does the “Accidental Onsite” plan cover?

groovy, sounds like you’ve got quite a few gripes w/ electronics of lately… lol i know i shouldn’t be intruding on this post… but just had to post somewhere.

Well, when I bought my last Vaio directly from Sony (FX190K), the screen went out on me after the one year warranty was up and they refused to touch it :?

I was forced to use an external monitor until I could locate a repair facility that didn’t cost an arm and a leg just to look at it :(

Turned out to be an easy fix (bulb), but this was only after like 6 months without a screen :cry:

I don’t want to go through anything like that again….

With my last laptop purchase 3 years ago (Toshiba P25-S676), I picked up a 5 year accidental death plan and have yet to use it (funny how that works), but I like having the extra security….

Since I’ll be using the Tx n the go, I figure anythign can happen and an accidental plan may very well be worth the extra cheese, but I’d like to hear some feedback from those who have actually had to use it first….

I mean, it would really suck if Sony decided to void the warranty if they ntice a few normal scratches on the surface :?
