The answer is YES!  :wink: The Bluetooth® GPS Receiver (VGP-BGU1) will be sold in the US.

it’ll be interesting to see what technology is in this, if it’s the same chipset in the new Sony GPS device that’s already on sale, and if it’s at a totally typical unreasonable sony price point.

there are so many BT gps devices out there, and for around $100…not sure we need another one, especially if it’s not sirf III.

The BT looks larger then the Belkin…

Still not sold on the design, built in EVDO I’d be all over it, that’s my main complaint about my U, especially since I can’t use my PCCard.  The keyboard isn’t enough for fast typing, I would rather save the space and make it thinner/lighter and use the touch keyboard.

Called SS and they said they didn’t get them in yet. I’ll have to see it in person next to my U to make a final decision.

It’s a 1.8” drive. What’s the largest capacity you can get for that size?

Sony Japan will be releasing UX50 in June with 16 Gig NAND Flash drive in it.
It is really impressing to see the insides of the UX, just amazing what engineering can do!

So why didn’t they include it? I find that very strange…

for anyone interested…dynamism has some great shots of it in the gallery for the device.  looks like it’ll do landscape and portrait, w/ a touch-sreen too…very nice…

definitely would like to have one of these…i’ve considered a PPC phone for awhile, but keep coming back to a smartphone for size, coupled w/ my laptop, it’s all i need…but this device could replace my laptop for 90% of my traveling…that and my phone that is.

Ye, good idea to replace the phone! Since Skype allows now free calls to any mobile or landline phones within US and Canada - it is a perfect timing to get UX!  :wink:
Personally I wanna get my hands on one, play with it and see how it works out, and thanks to 30 Days Return Garantee with SonyStyle.com orders, I might as well do that. 

Thanks for that reminder…great, now I don’t have the excuse of not being able to use it and see it first. Grr. Time to pull out that Sony Card and earn some more points.

It’s not strange at all its good its 30g since its 5400rpm new technology instead of the old 4200rpm 1.8 drives. It’s still a 1.8 drive so mod it if you don’t like the better speeds.
