My Sony Vaio PCG-TR1MP had his hard disk fried.
So I’m looking for a replacement HDD.
Who has an internal HDD for a TR1MP for sale?
Some people tell me it’s a 0,8”, others claim it’s a 1,8” HDD.
But anyway a 1,8” Toshiba or Hitachi is supposed to fit in a TR1MP.
Well, I just know it’s really small, and I’d be safest with one coming origionally out of a Sony.
I’m in Amsterdam, so if there’s anybody in the vicinity who has a fitting HDD at a not too ridiculous high price:
please let me know!

It won’t turn on, so I can’t look at the device manager.
I’ve had the thing already completely open; and all the screws out.
But by bad luck, the screw that holds the HDD is totally stuck.
Had several strong guys try to unscrew it without any luck.
So when I’ll change the HDD, I’ll have to cut the piece that the screw holds.
Right now I can’t lift the HDD out, or can see what’s written on it.
For the moment I’m a bit reluctant to cut the thing, until the moment I have the replacement HDD lying on my desk.
Because if I’m not able to find one myself, I’ll have to go to Sony, and have them replace it.
They won’t be happy with openings and cuttings.
They’re anyway already very expensive; I don’t want to give them another reason to give even higher costs because there has been “unprofessional tempering” going on.

So whatever: if anybody has a Toshiba or a Hitachi, I don’t care.
Either is fine with me; I’d rather buy an extra connecting cable than have to to to Sony for repairs.

Toshiba MK3004GAH.
So, is there anybody out there who has a hdd like this;

right dude, please dont go and pay sony a stupid price, they will charge you over £250.00, i suggest you get yourself on ebay and look for the 60 gig version, theres a guy in hong kong selling toshiba 60 gig hard drives for £60.00, i bought 10 off him as a job lot, theyre brand new and supplied with a warranty, no need to panic!!!!!! just do a few search tips, go on ebay, go to computing, search world wide, just type in ipod hard drive, you will find the guy is also selling 15 gig versions as they fit the ipod, hope this helps 8)
