I bought my 670P a couple of weeks ago and have been quite happy with it (with the notable exception of the noisy fan, of course…) I don’t use the cellular connectivity at all and want to remove the antenna before it falls off and gets lost. I’m sure there’s a cover or cap of some type that can go in the port when you remove the antenna, but does anyone here know what the part number for that is or where I might get one?

Nice find, but $32 for a little plastic cap which I had to immediately break for it to fit.  :shock:

I don’t want to open it yet.  Anywho.. I resolved my problem of the antenna by putting a double sided scotch tape.. hehe on the side so the antenna is there but it’s not moving .  So I contoured the tape so the it won’t be visible.  Plus the antenna is a soft rubber and feels something inside of it.  It kinda act as a thin skin for that antenna inside, so right now it sticks.  That’s the cheapest you can do if you still want to use Cingular trial or if when you travel abroad to use the WWAN.

That’s funny.  I don’t believe Archival used the macro focus function. 

Anyway, the laptop does not require any disassembly for the cap. As Nilsm mentioned, you have to break the legs off and file them down somewhat.  I may try to file them down more if I get motivated.  Then apply some hot glue, which as Nilsm also mentioned, is easily removed.
