Hi! as you all know that i got problem, well there is more update to it, i manage to get my WiFi working, i just uninstall the Wireless Switch Utility and then my WiFi is now active, but my bluetooth still not, anybody know why? it’s seem my windows is stuff up or something to do with software/driver… i’m thinking of reinstalling my windows XP, you guys think it will help? well up until now, i’m not sure if it the cable problem or not, seem to me that my WiFi is up and running except my Bluetooth and my HDD LED (which is strange, i could be broken) well i don’t worry much about HDD LED, i worried about the Bluetooth, just upgrade my TR2S, 2 days ago… damm… well thank LINC for you parts number, i’m look forward to it. (i might need to order them soon) .. thank all you…
no, i just finish reinstall my Windows XP .. and it seem that my bluetooth still wasn’t on… so now i open up my TR again. and check to see if the bluetooth is unattach or not.. it’s seem that everything is fine.. so i assume that it should be the cable problem, .. well anybody got any suggestiong??? i need help.. and i think i’ll order the cable from Sony .. now.. if you have any suggestion .. please. do .. i really need help.. thanks
It seems that you may have damaged the white cable. If you examine it closely, it has a bunch of extremely thin wires on it all very close to each other. If you bent or broke any of those wires then you’re screwed and it’s very likely random things won’t work like what you’re experiencing. You have to be very careful when putting that part back in.
If you do a reinstall, make sure you install SP2 to get full Bluetooth support.
I had two of them bent back. For the longest time, my memory stick reader would work intermittently until I figured it out. I was able to carefully bend them back to allow insertion. Glad to know, however, that the white cable if pretty inexpensive. I thought it would be a lot more.
i have examine my white cable.. and it seem that the silver little, ultra small cable got damage.. so i ordered the part from Sony , should be arriving next week.. can’t wait.. till it arrive.. it’s doesn’t cost much but the postage is expensive for that size of item.. (SUX) ... well i’ll have more update .. with my problem when i get the item.. ^_^

i have TR5AP for over a year,
and have read these threads for 2 years,
but couldnt join this amusing BT Mod
coz dont have any clue how to find the
module+cable in my country.
just feel REALLY desperate,
since they sold TR5AP here in indonesia $2995,
but no internal Bluetooth!!!!!!!!!!
and if i order the module+cable from
the nearest sony, they would charge me double for each items and it doesn’t include the shippin cost.
ARGGGGGH!
it gives me an eyesore everytime i see
that dongle! and envy other laptops that cost under $2000 but have an internal Bluetooth!!!!
if you can’t get the BT module, the best alternative is the BT PCMCIA from Billionton, it’s fit and flush with TR’s body.
I have been used it over than 2 year with no problem.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S5 notebook.
I read all the posts for the bluetooth module.
Here are my questions/request:
1) Can it be plugged into my notebook (I already checked, and SOny is selling this model with bluetooth)
2) can somebody give me the exact references (parts), besides
123480322 & 182726621 that i have to buy to have also the bluetooth led on the front.
And finally
3) can I find someone here on the forum to buy me the stuff and send it to Belgium (Europe), because I already checked every site and nobody is shipping to Europe (only sparepartswarehouse, but you have to activate accessusa (+/- 50$).
