Well apparently my friend managed to lose my network adapter within the 1 hour that I’ve lent him my laptop. Anyone know where I can buy a replacement for it and how much it might cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

The VGA/LAN adaptor is part number A-8119-547-A (which has a description “COMPLETE PWB FPC-VGA ADP (S)” in the VGN-X505ZP/VGN-X505VP Service Manual).

The part is US$76.15 at the Sony Direct Accessories and Parts Center.

Is there any other website? I reside in Canada and they only ship within the United States.

Might check with   (input the part number into their search).

They do list the part as “Factory Direct” and utilize a forwarding service for non-USA orders.  I have no idea the cost of this service.

Input the part number into a search engine (both with and without the hyphens) to see if you can find it stocked elsewhere.  It’s going to be difficult to find given that it’s an obscure part for a discontinued computer.

Another thought would be to contact Sony in Canada to see if they can source the part for you.

Any idea where I could get hold of one? I live in the United Kingdom and the previous owner lost the adapter.

I have searched eBay and other Parts & Accessories sites no-end!

$80 is a lot to pay for it!
