If so, is the Windows XP an SP1 or SP2?  Just curious.  I am thinking of buying TR2A DVD Recovery Set, but would not be interested if it’s still SP1 since that means more time to re-install my XP.

Its SP1 since its exact factory copy of the TR2A new ^^ so you would have to install SP2 if u wanted too.

Is it possible to create an home made SP2 CD from the DVD recovery set? I have SP2 CD from MSFT

I created a recovery-DVD by myself.
There is a little program to create an install-CD of WinXPhome or prof with an implemented SP2. I made it. And there is also a programm to built-in your own drivers to your winXP-install-CD! So, when you made it once, you can install WinXP with all the drivers you need already installed and you can use it all the time again!

But my favorite is to install winXP (incl. SP2) and install all the newest driver manually. Or: all drivers installed creating a recovery DVD with norton ghost!
I.e. powertoys (formerly TweakUI) is a tool you don’t have to configure all the time if you make a recovery-DVD with this kind of programs already configured.

EDIT: I never worked with the shipped WinXP-CD, just to get the right drivers. I get a “clean” WinXP-CD and added SP2. All further updates I download in one download from the link above. That’s it.

I use BartPE to make my recovery DVDs…works well and it’s free.
