Ok so… I have the season’s of 24 on DVD but I dont want to have to keep putting in different disks everytime. How do I copy the DVD to hard drive so I can leave the DVDs at home but still watch them on trips and such. Thanks. Also, how is the quality? Is it as good as the DVD?

DVD Decrypter will put a full copy on your HDD, while DVD Shrink can make the files smaller and either pull out the extra material or lower the quality a bit to save space. Both programs are no longer available from the authors, but if you search a bit you should be able to find them. Both are freeware.

I heard its a bad idea to put say the 4 seasons of 24 on your hard drive cuz it’ll fill it up. That true?

One DVD is about 4.5GB but it can go up to 7-8GB as well. If you calculate that 1 season is about 6DVDs that makes one season at least 27GB of data, so the 4 seasons would be over a 100GB worth of data. Not many Vaios can handle that.. Of course you could use some wicked DiVX compression, and you might fit it within 15-20GB, but it is still not ery good, you loose quality and precious time while compressing. A disc can take several hours….
