Blu-ray Player has appeared on SonyStyle Pricing is not yet available, but specs and features and a nice Flash site is there. I am sure this thing will cost around $1000 or more.

When DVD players first came out in 1997, you’d be lucky to get one for $1000.  :?

If its gonna cost that much, I think most will just wait to get a Playstation 3 instead hmm? Wonder how it would compare to stand alone blu-ray players?

Never found the PS2 to be that capable a DVD player so i wonder if the PS3 will be a so-so blu ray player.

Thats all I use my PS2 these days as a dvd player ya its not the best but have to put it to use since i dont play FFXI anymore :wink:

Well, glad I had read/heard wrong about the price, nice to see it start at a much lower price point, that means by the time I want to pick one up later this year, maybe they’ll come down some.

Just hope they put something out w/o that ICKY blue aluminum across the front…I mean, OK, it’d be cool to say ‘look at me, ive got bluray’...but, i want it for me, not the infrequent visitors to my HT.

Sony has a ‘preview’ up now of the new blueray desktop media PCs…so that should be nice once those are out as well.
