I am off to Japan in March, for a year, to teach english in schools.  I have finally been given my assignment location but as my Japanese knowledge could be written on a stamp I would be most grateful if someone would look up where Showa Mura is in the Gunma prefecture.  Perhaps a link to a Google map or the like

I keep hearing about so many Americans going over to Japan to teach English there. But wouldn’t you have to know Japanese as well to communicate with the students in the first place?  :?:
Its like a Spanish teacher teaching me Spanish but not knowing English so I’d be totally lost.

Well I’m actually only going to be an Assistant Language Teacher.  The usual teacher will do all the teaching, I’m there to play games and check pronunciation!

Like I said, there is a slight language problem, but that is the main aim of my visit.

I’m sure the job will be harder than I think, but that’s part of the experience.  I won’t really know until I get there as it’s pretty dependent upon the other teacher.  Also what level of education I work at.
