Well, it seems that behind my LCD there is a little peice of debris or dust behind the LCD that seems to ‘move’ depending how I shake the screen a little.

It is annoying as heck and has been this way since I received the system except it was in the corner and now its made its way to the center of the screen.

Is there a *safe* way to open the LCD/Screen panel and maybe blow some compressed air in there to get rid of it?

How is the return/replacement process?  did it cost you anything out of pocket?  Did they wipe your hard drive/etc?

I guess if I send it in I shoudl back everything up and wipe/restore the hard drive ‘em? 

Also, having crap behidn the LCD, does it signify damage to the system/lcd?  Did some seal or something break? 

Gosh I would hate to have to keep sending it in to get the dust removed.  Its ridiculous.

I’m pretty sure they’ll wipe your hard drive, don’t all companies do that when repairing your pc?

My T250P was replaced the brand new LCD panel for dust issue.
If you are in US, everything will be okay. Just call them, Sony Customer Service and tell them your LCD issue. They will send you package box, packing instruction and shipping lable to let you send laptop to them. Everything is free and you will received back after a few days. Tracking number is also available. They dont wipe my hard drive but you should backup your data before send it to them.

I’d also like to chime in and recommend you backup your system.  Even if there’s no risk of having it wiped, you might need something while your laptop is away.

They would give you same laptop with same screen or new one not another one they dont have 1000 of them in a closet discontinued nothing to worry about though they have to fix it or give you a similar model
