Hope that Sony keeps up with the 11,1 inch screen (wonderful!), but that they can manage to fix the “leakage” of light at the bottom of the screen.
Really hope also that Sony designers keep UNCHANGED the now very good right shift key (as opposed to the too small and badly located right shift key of the old TR, an otherwise excellent machine). For us writers a big enough right (and left, for that matter) shift key is of utmost importance! The TX has an excellent right shift key.
The man machine interface is of main importance, and the screen and keyboard are the main components in this regard. Perhaps the future TX keyboard could be better by enhancing the key’s travel (how long you have to push it down). 1,7 mm is OK, but a bit more could make it better.
Also, the color of the keys (keyboard) is of importance - and is of cours in addition a matter of taste and preferrance. Personally, I would like a Mac-like keyboard with regard to the color: A whiteish, pearl colored keyboard looks very bright and attractive to me (like the color of the old TR keyboard). The now silver keys on the TX is OK, but I would prefer a more white one, and with good contrast to the letters and numbers and signs that are on the keys. We really like to see well what we write! The orange Fn-keys on the TX is not easy to see.
Further, I would like that the TX in the future keep the same form factor (size and weight (or lighter!) That the fan noise will be history is a stroke of genious!!! One must only see to that the heat will not be a problem, but I have faith in the Sony engineers to take good care of that issue.
A further wish is to include a track point (as IBM has) in addition to the touchpad.
And if possible, make the arrow keys available without using the Fn, but this must be done without making dramatical changes with the keyboard, such as making some keys smaller (even a bit smaller would be bad!) and without making the right shift key smaller or more hidden og badly located, as was the case with the TR.
To end, I would also suggest to move the ports for the headset and mic to the right side (from the front).
