Has anyone used the Verizon PC5220 CDMA card in a 650, and if so what did you have to do to get it to work?  I live in an area where Cingular does not provide service and have been happily using the Verizon card in another notebook and want to swap it into the new TX.

It works fine for me.  I just make sure that the Cingular antenna is not on (SmartWi), pop in my EVDO card, and away I go.

For those that are using the EV-DO cards, which are you using, and does it work with the VZManager software.  I can get my PC5220 card to work, but only by manually setting up the connection.  Any help would be appreciated.

The EvDo connection I use is through my Sprint PPC-6700.  Yes, it’s pricey, but so are Verizon’s data plans.  Sprint has unlimited data for $15 a month.  Yes, they have crappy customer service, but there are forums like this one for the product that will teach you how to use it.  You can tether via USB cable and get about 700kbps or go through Bluetooth and get around 150.

It doubles as my phone, so I kill two birds with one stone.

I did this for several years with my old Motorola phones, the only problem is you can’t get calls while your using it…thats why I eventually got the Verizon EVDO PC Card. I was getting a solid 800 down 180 up last night in Detroit, and if you have a VZW voice plan they lowered the price for the PC Card to $59.99 a month which is better then the older $79.99.
