A few days ago, I came across this ad on Craigslist where a guy was selling his Vaio T240P/L with a lot of extra accessories and software at a very, very sweet price! He posted the ad back in December 22nd. I emailed him three days ago asking to buy that notebook and he hasn’t responded. Why would he put up that ad if he isn’t going to respond to my emails!?  :x
I just really wanted to buy this notebook from him and hope he hasn’t sold it yet and also replies to me soon. I hope he isn’t dead/maimed/incarcerated, etc. 
Sorry if I wasted anybody’s time, just wanted to vent, I really want this notebook but it looks like cruel fate wants to snatch it out of my reach.  :cry:

The guy says its in new condition and was upgraded to 1 gig of ram. He said it the accessories it would come with are these,

If something sounds too good to be true .... you may be better off if he doesn’t answer.

just to note:

the double capacity battery on the sony comes as standard…
thats the reason it protrudes slightly from the back, they dont sell normal capacity batteries for the T and you cant purchase larger capacity ones.

and about the DVD-r/w… the T-series has an internal one which i think is dual layer on the T240, so i do not know why you should be too bothered about the external i-link one

FYI, the T240P only comes with a DVD/CD-RW drive. The T250 and T270 come with a single layer dvd burner and the T350 and T370 come with dual layer dvd burners.

Even if this is a scam, which I highly doubt as the ad was written quite well, you’d think the guy would at least contact me so he could scam me out of my money.

ya idc about dvd rw anyway cause most people say this isnt desktop replacement but i tend to ignore that most of the time ^^

The Ts are my alltime favorite ultraportables, more so than the TRs and TXs even though I havent had the chance to personally try out a TX myself. I loved the TR when I first saw it but have come to love the Ts better keyboard and silver/black look and thinness more. But hey, thats just my opinion.

I do admit the keyboard is better but not as cool in my opinion but gotta admit bigger touchpad and right shift key is pretty good

Actually, the touchpad is significantly bigger on the T than the TR, just wanted ya to know, but the TR still isn’t bad, its still a great ultraportable even after over 2 years after it was released.

I saw TR and T in my lifetime from friend but for some reason after i saw the T looked hotter then TR but when i looked into it more didnt cut it for me just took quick look unlike TR which i saw alot and felt it in my hands /cheer wonder what laptop he has now he always sells and buys LOL

next time in mall gotta check out TX i guess… but all of them are hot i would deal with all of them but i would be most happy with the TR

spec wise its all similar .2 diff 40G compared to 60G always upgradable only use 29G in my desktop even though it has 160G graphics same TR plays games T and TX cant weird lol and T and TX can play games TR cant. T and TX bigger max ram than TR 1G better then good for me when i play my games have 150mem left over

How can the TR play games the T and TX can’t and vice versa? The TRs and Ts use the exact same graphics chip, the Intel Extreme Graphics 2. The TXs use the newer, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (GMA 900).

The TRs have the advantage of the built in camera and mic though I’ve heard some business especially forbid the use of cameras, so you can’t bring your TR in some places I have heard.

I heard both the TRs and Ts can accept 1 gig of ram max and the TX can accept 1.5 gigs of ram max. Its weird because Averatec also produces a 10.6” notebook, the Averatec 1000 series, that accepts up to 2 gigs of ram. I think I heard people say the TR/T/TX can really accept up to 2 gigs of ram but not sure about that.

by intel.com there processor can do 2G for TR but if u dont know why u need that much 600 cash isnt worth it and it does work read people do it but there is hibernation problems which i dunno why i think this is for T and TX as well u may have to look urself at intel.com
