i was bored out of my mind, so i went to the sony support website and look at the software difference.  If the only difference between TR2 and TR3 is the 802.11, why is the BIOS version different?  TR2 is using ver 7, TR3 is using ver 11.  also, the modem might be different althought i m not that sure about that…

just wondering.

Most PC companies will ship the same model with different Bios depending on when the PC is purchased.

As the updates are done, usually the new stock is updated.

why would you want a bios that’s relased for the tr3 for your tr2..? if it aint broken..don’t fix it.. you might end up with problems since its not specifically designed for your system..if you are having problems with the your current bios then its a different story.. newer isn’t always better!

Its differnt for TR3A due it has b/g intel 2200 wireless compared to TR2A which only has b wireless unless u get TR2Ap3 which has g wireless

Just for interest… why would the BIOS even care what sort of WLAN was in the machine? Can you do a network boot over wireless?
