Hi, i’m sure most of us here know the new TX model can do vertical and horizontal scrolling with the touchpad something like Apple’s newer notebook’s touchpad.

Anyone knows of any utility I can install to have the similar functions? Preferably of small footprint.

I have this functionality on my V505EX using the Alps touchpad driver version 5.3.510.9.

I have extracted the driver from Sony’s installer and can email it, with directions on how to install it .. simply send me a PM if you want it.

All the recent (XP-based) Vaio Notebooks with an Alps touchpad have it.

Anyone with an older Windows 2000 (or earlier) installation won’t .. but the version I have will install and will provide that functionality on those systems.

Too bad Sony doesn’t provide many driver updates for their systems once the model goes out of production.  Also too bad that Alps provides no way to download reference drivers for their hardware.

I have a VGN-S28GP, under my device manager, there isnt this ALPS touchpad device.

Mine look like this :

Does it mean i can’t use the ALPS driver? What a waste. sigh~
