Hello,

I wanted to have your opinion about the fact that my TR is making a lot of noise.. i knew it s hard to explain a sound and its volume over the internet but let s say it seems to come from de HDD. When I press with my palm the lower left corner of the notebook the sounds gets quiter (of course it s where the HDD is located). Does it mean my HDD is step by step dying?
In general i have the impression that my TR is making much sound that it should… did that happen to you too? What could be the causes of it

Just days before my hard drive died it was making these loud clicking noises.  The clicking seemed to get louder and louder each day, with the clicking intervals happening closer to one another, and then it just died on me.  Lets hope this doesn’t happen to yours.

Do you have a software that could allow me to check my hdd’s clusters?

Thom, not sure why u want to check clusters if u are having noise in your box, but XP’s error checking should do that.  For the best hd maintanence i recommend Diskeeper http://www.diskeeper.com V10 Professional Premier. It does a great job at defragging and much more.  About your noise, it could be the fan…that’s mid left side…ya can put your ear to the air port next to the usb connector to listen. But the clicking noise is usually the HD, and in my exp. bad news but see my post after this one for something interesting…
