[quote author=“lotus_guy”]Everyone,
Concerned about my constantly running fan and 75-80 degree CPU temperature, I finally opened up my s360 today, cleaned the dust out of the fan vent, and used some silver based conductive grease. I would say that the fan vent was at least 50% blocked with dust.
The machine now runs about 20 degrees cooler. I can actually use it on my lap without burning my leg now. The fan still runs pretty much constantly, but it is at a very low speed. I don’t know how much of a difference the thermal grease makes, but I would highly recommend at least blowing out the dust if you’ve had your machine for a while.

btw: I’m also using RMClock to reduce power consumption.
i have a tr3 that had the same problem, eventually burned out the harddrive, as it seems if cpu temp rises so does the hd temp, but ur procedure is a good one, i did the same after replacing the hd. checking now to see what RMclock is and if it works on a TR3. thanks for the post…
