- This year didn’t impress me at all. My Opteron 148 workstation didn’t fall that far behind the market leaders this year and my TR still works admirably. I even ditched my iMat SP3i in favor of my old, reliable Sony-Ericsson P900. I guess I’d have to nominate my iPod nano (to hold one is to want one) as my favorite gadget of 05. The Nokia 770 would have been a runner-up, but I decided on a Flos Arco lamp instead. :D 8)
- I didn’t buy anything that really sucked, but my Logitech MX1000 wasn’t without it’s little bugs.
- I might be excited about the Treo 700 if it wasn’t just on Verizon and I’d be interested in the SE P990, but it doesn’t support EDGE or the US UMTS band. What’s a US gadget lover to do? Technology seemed to fall by the wayside compared to software this year.
- “Batman Begins” ruled. Christian Bale finally gets some recognition.
- Depeche Mode made about half a great album sans Alan Wilder with “Playing the Angel”.That may not sound like high praise, but from me it is. Two bands I don’t really care for, Tristesse de la Lune and Panzer AG, turned out with my favorite mix of the year with “Time is Moving”. VNV Nation was back in form with a non-“Solitary”-cover album. Bravo. Best video of the year was Rammstein’s “Benzin”. I love those crazy East-German fuckers.
- As I predicted, buying a home was my best (although belated) moment of ‘05. The rest was kind of the “Year of the Slow Burn”. A lot moved, but it set the stage for either a great or an explosive ‘06.

Coolest - Not sure if it’s the coolest, but I use it the most, I love my Treo650 and I think it came out in 05 for Verizon…I don’t even remember anymore. I got my X in 04, same with the U I think…if those don’t hold up, I guess the Xbox360 or the PSP.
Worst - Tassimo Coffee Maker. I kept it because I am lazy but the thing has a ton of flaws and is loud as hell.
Excited - I think you meant coming in ‘06, but I’d say an X replacement.
Movie - Harold and Kumar or Sin City
Songs - Not that big into new music this year, but out of my 2005 albums, Disturbed would be the most listened to. Still JZLP from 2004 is my most played album by far.
Moment - White Sox World Series…more specifically Konerko’s Grand Slam which landed 4 rows from me. Priceless…well several thousand for the ticket, but the memory was priceless.

Damn it. Zyr and champagne don’t mix.

Good call on H&K, but I didn’t like Sin City. It was the same story basic story 3 times in a row.

You were there? Sweet! Funny story: I was at a White Sox-fan friends house that night (he’s a former Chicago South-sider) and I had to go to catch a train just as Jermain Dye is up. We’re watching his long at-bat and I keep telling my friend that we really need to go. We get in the car and try to tune in the game on the radio and there’s some controversy that we don’t quite understand (when Dye did but didn’t really get hit by the pitch) and then we hear Konerko belt it on the radio. He wasn’t happy with me, but when I called him the next morning, for some reason he was ok with it.

It’s ok before I edited it I spelled Album with a b at the end ‘albumb’. That my friend is the codeine the Dr placed me on as one of my meds.
I thought Sin City was a bit long, but having not read the books or comics or whatever you call them, it was neat and original. H&K is a NY/NJ thing, I know people in MI didn’t get most of the jokes, I was the only one laughing.
Yes, die hard White Sox fan, I paid an obscene amount for the seat but it was worth every penny and them some. I figured I only live once and they only make it every 88 years. I got so sick because i refused to wear a jacket, just a short sleeve jersey.

- Been a slow year for tech, thanks to an extreme lack of funds :( I think the only thing I’ve bought has been my W800i so I’ll have to be that (not that it isn’t good you understand. I really like it!)
- VGF-AP1L. I only had this for about a month, but its size combined with the new W800 it just had to go. Again I’m struggling to nominate things here…
- Revolution (assuming it comes out in ‘06!)
- Team America. Nothing like a good comedy 8)
- SOAD, Mesmorize; Hard-Fi, Stars of CCTV; Gorilaz, Demon Days.
- Getting a job offer for a job in Japan, starting April ‘06

I would have to say my Sony Ericsson D750i mobile phone and Sony NW-HD3 MP3 Player.
There wasnt anything i got which i was disappointed with. Though my bro got an X-Box 360, the money could have been put to better use.
The new Vaios later in the year. Planning to go old school and purchase a C1MZX aswell.
Sin City
Sheek Louch - After Taxes, Boyz II Men - Winter Reflections and R Kelly - TP-3 Reloaded.
Ive had alot of good moments in 2005. I guess being in NY for Thanksgiving and being able to buy stuff soooooooooooooooo cheap and not to mention the food aswell. lol
- What was the coolest pieces of tech you got your hands on this past year? My…..this year has been kinda gadget crazy for me…I guess getting X505 notebook, than VAIO V520G desktop, HMP-A1 Sony Video player, M1 digicam, Locationfree TV units (LF-X5 and X11) and many other Sony toys, as well as picking up a 30 inch Sony XBR LCD TV I have been drooling over 2 years!
- What was the worst? I guess the worst of all this is how much money was spent on this Sony stuff that could have been used to help others, I try to do that, but not enough, there are too many hurting people out there in the world. As for the worst gadgets, I am very picky so I do a great research before I buy, and if at the end I end up not using it, someone else finds it useful
- Are you excited about anything new coming in ‘06? I guess PS3, but I am not a true gamer, but that device is sure to have many other cool features. Always excited about new Sony gadgets and hope the company will recover and show the world it still has neat stuff to offer.
- Favorite movie of ‘05? nothing really stood out, (as it took me too long to think of one….sorry), maybe I am still tired after New Year party b/c we went to bed at 6:30am….
- 3 favorite songs (or albums) of ‘05? loved a few tunes….just being lazy to name….
- Best moment for you personally in ‘05? Going overseas and NYC in December

Coolest pieces ... Lets see, had to be an S3XP for me earlier this year, i didnt really need all that power, but just got bored of my slow TR. Mind you, i still have the TR and plan to keep it forever. Almost. Also treated myself to a DSC N1 for christmas and a U750P in november. Bought a APPLE 21 inch monitor with the Dinovo BT desktop. Perfect desktop gear.
Worst… I dont really know. Nothing much personally. I guess i could reflect stans thoughts on all those people dieing. Worst year for air disasters, i can relate to this because one of my friends mother passed away in the air france crash. Also the earthquakes in south asia, the tube bombings in london and all those british/american soldiers dieing in IRAQ. We love you guys so much !
Favorite movie of 2005, for me it has to be crash .. wow! wow! wow! Absolutely blew me away.
3 favorite songs, i got to listen to a bit more of morcheeba. So cool. Very loungy. Got to see aerosmith in concert which was just brilliant.
Best moment personally, ummmmmmmm! Hard one this. Not that i’ve had several, but just cant think of it. oh well !

Drak, u crack me up. Here’s my list: Coolest pieces of tech you got your hands on this past year?, well as far as hardware, for me it was a 3000 rupee (55usd) 5.1 surround speaker system by DRN purchased at the local chinese market. It takes 2 signals from my pc, splits it into earth shattering 5.1 dolby, and is so cheap I am going to get another one for the living room. Came with 5 small not so tacky speakers that are wall mountable, an attractive sub, and a remote. Simple and cheap. If all tech could be this way. Software wise it was canopus procoder 2, which i think came out in 04, but works flawlessy from the Premiere Pro timeline, and replaces the dorky Adobe media encoder that i have been struggling with all year. As for FREE software, Azureus tops the list. Using in advanced mode and learned all about bit torrents this year, but wish there was a decent forum for fine tuning tips on this cool P2P sharing tool. Worst Software of 2005: Itunes Update to V6…still does not work right - biggest headache of the year. Excited about in 06: Wurled Peas, End to War on Terror and Iraq, Afganistan, et. all., and the opening of our new sound/visual recording studio in Kathmandu Nepal. Favorite movie of ‘05? by far and just under the wire was King Kong. Have not seen a better one since the original. Ya gotta love Jack Black, as my favorite in 2004 was School of Rock. 3 favorite songs (or albums) of ‘05? Well, using Azureus I downloaded a 12-CD Discography set of Black Label Society, and not really being a fan of heavy metal since Black Sabbath when I was a kid, really enjoyed this change of pace from all the trance/hip-hop of the day. Best moment for you personally in ‘05?
Sitting on my 350cc Royal Enfield after riding to Everest Base Camp, right after the TR hardrive crapped out (with all my stored pics) and thinking, I dont give a sh*t. Life is grand,
Happy New Year to you all,
Jiggy Gaton Flash E-card to u all =>
