I’m sorry that you are experiencing difficulties with the upgrade. Perhaps, a clean install is in order as suggested. I’ve the UGPZ6 but I am holding off the upgrade till I acquire a 60GB/80GB 1.8” HDD for the TR5AP; will let you know if it works.

Guy’s I don’t think this new module is going to work in our TR’s it has no UART support which ( I think) is the beginning translator for data to communicate to the OS. I reinstalled my UGPZ3 and it works fine, to me that can’t mean that windows is at fault! It must be a hardware incompatability issue. If you compare the UGPZ3 and UGPZ6 specs the -3 has UART support, the -6 does not. It seems the new module is not compatible with our daughter boards, mother boards.

Even the old module I have factory installed on my TR3/SP will see the chip as UGX, until the drivers are installed. After it is installed, it will be Usb Bluetooth Device with the Microsoft Stack, and Sony Bluetooth Device with the Widcomm stack.

The sp2 stack doesn’t support UGPZ6 chip, that’s why the windows see the chip but no driver installed.

The best way to test it will be reinstall the windows and get the Sony (Toshiba OEM) stack, the stack is made for UGPZ6.

here you go, no need to modifiy anything, latest Sony (toshiba OEM) stack for the v2.0 bt module. over 150mb since it’s multilanguage.
just reinstall windows (with sp2) and have this installed.

I’ve installed the UGPZ6 successfully on my TR5AP but with a fresh reinstall of WinXP Pro. It’s a little tedious, but it’s worth it.

Just got mine (UGPZ6) installed without reinstall Windows. 
I am so happy.
