anyway, since our TR is so mini that we can put it in a casual bag, why not consider those super brands like Hermes, LV, Dior…etc, if you are going to spend that amount of money on porter?

actually, i have been searching for casual leather bags from the above brands, to get rid of so called “Notebook Bag”. :D

Thanks for the link. I checked them all, but I still love the Porter bag the most. I measured my TR, and it seems the bag is only 2 + 2 cm’s larger in each direction, which means it will fit quite nicely, and be very tiny. I can still add my charger and mobile phone to the front pouch, etc. And over all, it is padded for a laptop. I travel every day, and I cannot help banging it to things during the day, so the padded build is a must!!

As for brands, just like I said, I am not crazy about them. Since those brands will not ofer a notebook case, I wont go for them. As opposed to you trying to get rid of a notebook case, I am trying to acquire one :D

Just in case, can you point me to some links of what you mean by super brand bags? Wouldnt mind taking a look at them just for kicks…

remember always go to local official stores for making the purchase.
most of those brands don’t offer online shopping at all, as there are too many counterfeits, many AAA class counterfeits are really well made and extremely difficult to differenciate from geniune ones by untrained person.

Wow, those things are extremely expensive indeed. I think I will just stick with my original idea of trying to find a perfect size-+-cushion match to the TR3 I have.

Jiggy - you have me looking at the timbuk2. My wife’s gonna kill me. 

I would use the sleeve when going into the office, and the sleeve and bag when traveling. It would be nice to be able to store a book and my GPS car mount along with the power brick & a couple of cables.

After you put your TR and grip sleeve in the small Messinger bag, how much room is left? It looks to me like the sleeve takes the full width and height of the bag. So I guess what I’m asking is how thick can a book / notebook / etc be without making the Messinger bag start to bulge?

I have a T150, but it looks to me like the T will fit nicely in the sleeve.

Just to give an update, I am talking myself out of the Porter case.

I went to a local shop today, and I saw a CCB2 case. I didnt have the TR with me at the time, but the shopkeeper helped me by placing a 10`6” Fujitsu laptop in the case. Granted, it doesnt match in size exactly, this bag can accomodate a 12"as well, but after all I was happy with its fit. Besides, the TR is a bit thicker than the Fujitsu we tried, so it should be fine. And to my surprise, the CCB2 is a tiny bag. I couldnt imagine carrying a smaller bag, and the Porter is much smaller than this. The fact that I am 190cm makes this decission easy. I would look ridiculous with a smaller bag I imagine. The CCB2 is very nicely manufactured, and half or less the price that the Porter case.

I will check around a bit more, and will get back here with what I have decided.

Well I tried Icube, AIKO TRADING, and dynamism all of which have them on their sites but none have in stock and are discontinued.

I’m working on getting someone to look in Japan for me but we always seem to miss each other.  I see Amazon in Japan has them for about $209 so Hopefully he can buy it there but looks like it’s not in stock there.

So Icube doesnt have it. Well, I have a Japanese person close to me, if you need something translated, let me know. The best price I found in Japan was 18000 Yen, about 160USD if I am correct. Didnt I post the link to that site? You might ask your Japanese contact to check that for you.

Actually even taking a closer look at it… I swear its the same bag different color.  The Zipper puls look the same the shoulder strap is the same, the Loops that hold the strap on are the same.

Well, things may work out after all. A guy I know that lives over in Japan is going to pick up a PCGA-MBC1 and a PCGA-MB13 for under $100 found on Japan auction sites like Ebay. :D

As for me, I ordered this bag that you just found. It looks nice in black, as far as I am concerned, and since I didnt like the bag so much to pay for it 190, but for 39 I wouldnt mind having it extra, I ordered it already. It is said to be here in 7-10 days with Global Priority Express from USPS post. I will report back as it arrives, I am sure it wont have the same quality as the Porter one, not even close, but it may be worth the 40 dollars.

a lot of us have the Case Logic DVD player bag, it slips right over, and is great for protection as a slip-in bag if you use another bag to hold the slip-in bag. fitting the neoprene(?) bag into my Coach computer bag pretty much makes it invincible…
