Hi
Well well, the price is a LOT for me at this point, but I am so inlove with that laptop, and she does deserve the best she can get…
Could you post some pictures while the bag is at use? I would like to see more picture, hopefuly convincing me to spend the big BUCKS.
By the way, that site offeres it for 199, but when I add it to the cart, it will show 239. When I add something else to the cart, that will show up at the right price, except the proter bag. I sent them an email asking what is up…
Thanks for all info, I am really tempted to fork out the $ for that Porter thingy…

found an auction in hk, much cheaper, around usd160, with some life photos, seller says the item is 100% new with packing, purchased in japan. you may ask the seller for enquiries.

the big price tag is mainly because of the porter brand, the craftmanship of the bag is fine but not supreme, it fits the tr nicely (not with the extended capacity battery), btw, it’s made of lyon and is water-proof.

Hi
Wow, that is much cheaper. Well well, how should I purchase something from a site whose language is way too difficult for me, besides the seller has 2 feedback if I am correct? Is there a money back guarantee with the payment system he requires? I am trying to convince myself into trusting the seller…..
Do you think it would be a walkable path? He ships internationaly?
Thanks
Ben

OK, did a rate convertion, it’s not that cheaper, it’s 192.47 usd with today’s rate 100HKD=12.83USD.
The seller doesn’t want to ship internationally, there is no free shipping also.
Go back to icubis or try search the net for better deal. if the 199 price on icubis includes free shipping, then it’s really the way to go.

Hi there,
Thanks for looking it up for me, like this of course this is out of the question. I found the best deal yet in Japan for around 180USD, but again, I need to check conversion rates.
I hope I can get it somehow. So are you absolutely satisfied with the bag, and you still think it was worth what you paid for it?
Do you have some pics handy showing the laptop inside the bag?
Thanks
Ben

I don’t have the bag with me at the moment, but like i said, you pay big premium to the brand, I would say the bag itself worth 100USD.
It’s all about brand consciousness, if you think big brands (probably unknown in europe) are worth the extra, then it’s a very nice personal identity pairing with the TR.

Hi
I really dont care for the Brand, and I am not a fashionable fellow I would say… :d I just like to have good electronics, and I would like to give the TR the best care I can. After all I ride the bus every day with the TR on me, and I wouldnt want to scratch it, etc. Now, I have a 15” bag, good quality, but poor TR is not very fixed inside, it slides left and right as I move, and I dont like that. In Hungary, we can get the PCGA-CCB2 bag, but I dont have high hopes for that, as it is way bigger than the Porter Bag. I’d like the smalles possible bag…..

so you don’t care about the brand, then you may want to try Hedgren if Porter is too expensive. Hedgren makes some nice bags for TR size notebooks.

of couse the best fit is the porter, it’s specially made for TR :D .

Hi
Thanks, they do seem to have lots of laptop bags, some might even match. I checked and a few retailers sell them in Hungary. I guess I should be checking them out. Thanks.

my pleasure, but I have to remind you that I once had a white HEDGREN UNEEK bag for my TR, it’s a well made bag, but after I saw the porter, I immediately bought it, there is no comparision with Hedgreen Uneek and the Porter, maybe I am too materialistic.
thought you should know first in case you regret :D not getting the porter.

Wow, you are playing with my mind?? :D
I am not getting anything!!! I will wait til I make up my mind. I will look at a few DVD cases, and if they are not very nice, I will order that Porter bag no matter what….
Thanks for all the help, and I think that my Vaio deserves the best, even if a bit pricey.

one more thing you may want to consider, that the shiny porter bag has vaio logo on it, which make it a vulnerable target to thieves. At least it’s not too safe on metro in paris. serious.

Hi, yes I thought that might be a threat in some places, but not very much in Hungary. Of course if I leave it somewhere it is unlikely to be returned to me like how it goes in Japan, but noone will rip it off me in the Metro…hopefuly.
On this link I found it for 18600 Yen, which translates to 155USD. That is getting better sounding… Will consider to purchase it..

I am not sure the site offers international shipping at all, the listed shipping areas are all in Japan.

I think your best bet is icube or other online sellers that ship internationally.
btw, icube is a reputable dealer.

Well, I know I am a lucky bastard, but my mother in law lives in Japan. (My wife is Japanese). Therefore no problem with Shipping nor tax, as she can put it in the next package she sends us. It seems shipping is 420yen, so that makes it 19000 yen all together.
Of course I am still undecided, I dont know wether I should fork the money out or not. I will check a few more bags out, and see later.
If I get it i will surely make a review on it here…
Icube didnt get back to me yet, so I dont know what’s up with the prices, if it is 199 or 239. That makes a whole lot of difference..
