I dont think so although google found some Toshiba MK6006GAL.
I think there are some mistake at site google found.
In fact, there are 3 version MK2004GAL, MK3006GAL and MK4007GAL. All of them are single platter and maximum capacity of newest platter is 40G. So the newest and highest is MK8007GAH, 80G with 2 platters, and 8.5mm in height. GAL indicate for 5mm and GAH is 8.5mm and X505 can only compatible with 5mm 1.8” drives.
It’s not true if MK6006GAL has 1 platter due to max capacity of platter. So it is absolute MK6006GAH or compatible at 60GB in 8.5mm in height, NOT 5mm.
[quote author=“Sol510”]If it’s single platter (and looking at the model number it should be), then it’ll fit.
This is the only 1.8” 60gb Toshiba is producing (http://www3.toshiba.co.jp/storage/english/spec/hdd/mk6006.htm). It’s the same one as the 60gb iPod photo. Next one up is the MK8007GAH, which is a double platter (2x40gb) scheduled to come out in the fourth quarter of 2005 - unlikely to be seen on the market for the next little while (thinking spring/summer 2006).
I can not believe that there is a 60GB 1.8” with single platter :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
Otherwise, there will be 120GB with double platter, but 80GB is maximum.
[quote author=“Anonymous”]They did not even release the 2 platter drives with PMR.
If these drives would exist you could show us a link from toshiba’s site couldn’t you ?
So this ebay angebot is considered as a reliable source ? :D
It almost convinced me. But I realized I could post one as well with 1 TB capacity and 1GB of cache and that would look just like this, a typo.
So I rather stick to Toshiba site links, keep them coming.

I also check it everyday when will it appear in the stores but so far only in an mp3 player which is 40 000Y and I really don’t need the mp3 player but will not settle with the speed of the 3006. That 20MB/s read speed look really tempting.
