“Samsung introduces the world thinnest 14 inches notebook to compete directly with Panasonic Y series (Panasonic still hold the lightest 14 inches record). It weighs 1.7kg and is razor thin 19.2-23mm thick/thin. Samsung X1 is the first on its class that features wide screen WXGA (1280 x 768) resolution.”
It certainly does look thin enough to be true, and specs say:
13.07” x 10.29” x 0.76” - 0.91”
330 x 261.36 x 19.3 - 23.1 mm
but on the same site the specs for the X505:
10.2 (W) x .38(front) - .8 (rear) (H) x 8.2 (D) [inch]
259 x 9.7 x 208 [mm]
so what I’m reading if correct is that it’s actually thicker than the X505.
They meant the thinnest 14” I guess.
Not really good to compare anyway because it is much easier to fit it in a 14” case. They could make the X505 thinner now like the new T.
But would it really matter ? That few mm in the front…
