Hello -
The SnyUtils.dll file is generally embedded with the Sony Shared Library installation.
You can verify if this file is present by looking in Windows Explorer for:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sony Shared\Sony Utilities\SnyUtils.dll
If the file is there, it also needs to be properly registered in the System Registry. This is generally in three places. I’ll skip the uninstall information because it’s complicated and unnecessary to get the Sony Proprietary software to work.
The first required location is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ App Paths
In this branch of the registry a string value needs to be present:
SnyUtils.dll
Under this heading there needs to be two values:
(default) with a string value of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sony Shared\Sony Utilities\Snyutils.dll
and
Path with a string value of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sony Shared\Sony Utilities (note the lack of the file name .. this is just the path to the file on the disk)
The second required location is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Sony Corporation \ Shared Info \ Shared DLLs
Under this heading there needs to be one value:
SNYUTILS.DLL with a string value of C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sony Shared\Sony Utilities\SnyUtils.dll
As I mention further up this thread, if you don’t have the SnyUtils.dll file, send me a private message with an email address and I’ll send the file to you. You will have to make the above entries in your System Registry, using the Regedit utility. Take a manual System Restore checkpoint prior to editing your registry, in case something goes horribly wrong.
