The cracker released at six months ago.
It requires some small modifications.
In the past, I needed to borrow Toshiba Bluetooth Stack because Sony didn’t have the bluetooth stack oem from Toshiba.
Toshiba Stack has the SCMS-T protection that works only on Toshiba bluetooth Headset.
So I put the registry file to unlock the copyright protection.
The situation is now different.
We can get Sony bluetooth stack oem from Toshiba today.
The Sony bluetooth stack doesn’t have the SCMS-T protection.
We don’t need the registry file anymore. 
The cracker is workable on every Sony Bluetooth v1.1/v1.2 module, even the Sony external USB dongle.
Fortunately, the new S5x/A5x/TX’s bluetooth v2.0+EDR modules don’t need the cracker.

The patch is only for version 1.1 and 1.2 bluetooth modules, if your S-580 has the latest version 2.0+EDR module installed and comes with a toshiba stack, then you should be able to use any stereo or non-stereo bt headset without problem, unless the headset is only compatible with its own adapter.

The latest v2.0+EDR module that SONY use on new VAIO(s) already allow audio through BT headsets, as SONY is officially promoting its new VAIO(s) + Skype + BT headset :D

No, that’s not your module’s PID.

because you have toshiba stack installed, to show your module’s PID:
Under Device Manager—> Universial Serial Bus Controller
choose your module then Properties—> Details—> Hardware Ids

I clicked on “Have Disk” and then go to the folder that contains the “csrbc01.inf” file.

Guest: Try download the patch file on the first page again.

Another successful patch here. I’ve had my TR2/B for 2 years and have been trying to get it to work with my bluetooth headsets. I finally got it working this week thanks to the advice in this thread. Thank you all. I am thrilled with my laptops new ability.

I just got the latest Widcomm drivers installed on my Vaio s380 with internal BT. The instructions should work for other vaios also.

Does anyone know whether the Toshiba OEM Bluetooth stack for Sony computers can be used for Toshiba notebooks as well?

The problem is that with the Toshiba BT stack for Toshiba computers you cannot switch off SCMS-T copy protection, which sucks as there’s virtually no single BT stereo headset that actually supports SCMS-T. In a different forum some guys already posted modifications to the registry entries and they partially succeeded: the SCMS-T can be switched off but will always be switched back on automatically upon reboot.

We could acutally need some help over there in the forum at http://www.mtekk.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7862&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=10 . Any ideas :idea: will be greatly appreciated!

I get message that my License expired or that my BT is not licensed to be used with the Widcomm software. ( Yes I patched both files as described)

My VGN-T250 works great now with the Toshiba Stack and a Plantronics BT headset.  THanks for all the good info - it took a while for me to figure out the steps correctly, but if I can muddle through it anybody can.

Questions of the day: I have 29 days left on my “evaluation version” from Toshiba.  Any ideas?  I don’t mind paying for a liscense if that is what Toshiba is looking for..
