I do not know why, i checked for adaware and viruses and nothing shown, but whenever i start a new interenet explorer window session it directs me to:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie5/download/ieupdate.htm

no matter what I do, checked the tools, used blank, used another one, checked the registry i can’t do anything.

please help it is very annoying…

another annoying explorer redirection is when a wrong url is typed google searches it automaticaly…

before it was msn…

im sure its to do with a line in the reg. anyon eknow ehre it is?

mike’s problem is definately with google toolbar.  try reinstalling it.  i believe there are settings somewehre in the toolbar for default search page.

regadring my problem:

I did all updates the normal way and the way the forcing page asks me too (although it is a little bit different than the normal windows update link on the star menu.

what else should i try?

i tried hijack but till nothing heppens,

i must have installed at least 4-5 ad aware programs nad remove the registry from any pest my system can find of.

what else can i do now?

problem solved as follows:

you open a new page.. internet update forces itself… you stop wait and ask for a blank page (set it up as a home page in tools) so you hit HOME in internet explorer and then you COPY a shortcut to the quick bar so everytime a blank page opens…

it goes without saying that you can choose another page to start as well using the same method…

hope this temp solution will work fine after days…
