Thanks for the tips…not overly concerned…HDs crash, they get replaced…that’s an easy fix…if the LCD gets crap under it, yea, it’ll be going back…but w/ a 6 month return policy, i think i’ll be fine…

The reason I went w/ a T was that the S models I could find had 3 month or 1 year warranty, no return allowed, deal w/ the OEM…and I don’t deal w/ repairs and warranties on parts that cannot be replaced plug-n-play like a HD, minipci, etc…if it breaks on things like the LCD, mobo, integrated video, I toss it and buy new…my time is too valuable to deal w/ Sony for 3-6 months on a repair…

The S2XX and S3XX have a not-that-common issue w/ the ATI video card causing a hardware (mounting or something) problem that keeps the machine from booting, or it just locks up…the repair is difficult to get sony to address and the repair thru a third party (only 1 company that I know of), is over $200 plus shipping…so not willing to take that chance…

Also sorry if I sounded rude, but after you had made your offer, just sounded like you were continuing to hammer a pointless point home w/ the seller…it really doesn’t matter what offers people make, or the fact that it sold for less last week, last month, last year, the price is what the price is, and right now these units are going for $1200+ everywhere that I can find…

In the end, all that matters is what his highest (comfortable w/ the buyer) offer is…and it sounds like he’s beyond your offer…

gilbert, that’s funny…my thought, wasn’t a real offer to begin with…your friends sisters cousin really didn’t even want a laptop and probably didn’t even buy the T43…

shftup…yes and no, got my refurbed T240P today and it’s not exactly a good refurb…didn’t come in the orig box, which i expected…but since it wasn’t a ‘sony refurb’ i’m not suprised…anyway…rounded corners left/right of the battery are scratched up, LCD is perfect…wireless LAN seems to be DOA…switch is on, LED lights up on boot but goes out once the laptop is up, however shows up in hardware profiles that it’s working fine…

anyway…not sure what i’m going to do, for now, gonna go fight w/ this T for a bit more and go to bed…tomorrow I may throw it against a wall…

Why do you make such unfounded statements?

I’ve said that my girlfriend is looking for a notebook around a thousand dollars and offered that much. I have waited few days but this guy insisted on more money. I thought that $1275 is unreasonable and after showing her the photos advised against buying it.

At this point I am relieved that she got a computer by herself, since I didn’t want to deal with reinstalling, babysing and making her feel comfortable with a used machine anyways. I am not quite sure if you understand what I mean by that, since you prefer to save three hundred bucks and vote against a T350 ... or higher and go with a refurb.

As far as the refurb is concerned. It is a refurb, with blemishes. Sony offers 90 days on those, Costco ... 6 months. I think you should’ve expected something like that. It is probably reinstalled incorrectly or the wireless switch is messed up. It is hard to tell.

I will stop posting on this topic, since the seller insists on a clean topic with his price while bumping it himself

FWIW, in the future, some of you may want to use better discretion when working out deals and post privately as opposed to publicly. It seems like there was a lot of misunderstanding and accusations that could have been avoided.
