After doing the PSP 2.5 update you now have LF in your network (next to web browser) on the PSP. When going to it you need to log into the LF and then config it. You need to update the LF to 2.0. It kept crashing on me so I had to do it through the computer.
You don’t need a new serial key for it.
You need to download and configure the remote seperately.
Some pics (sorry for the quality):
Great upgrade, I wish the TV would go just a bit louder, but otherwise, very cool.
I was reading the FAQ (by the way Sony updated its LocationFree Owner’s Lounge site ) and I am sure the owners of the first generation of LF units (LF-X1/X5) will not be happy:
Q: I have a LocationFree® Base Station of LF-X1/LF-X5. Can I use NetAV with my PSP™ system?
A: The PSPâ„¢ system is not compatible with the LocationFree® Base Station models LF-X1 and LF-X5. The PSPâ„¢ system is compatible with the LocationFree® Base Station models LF-PK1 and LF-X11. - usual Sony’s fashion to screw up customers. It’s like “Come on guys!”

It is a popular phrase. shit.like.no.other. I don’t like the licensing scheme for this locationfree tv. I will try it, since I am tempted, but I dont like to be limited to 1 user account…. I might be able to modify the registry… who knows PSP - Locationfree TV fits my needs and I will definetely try it

As I stated before the PSP doesn’t need its own serial key so your not using your 1 included accont.
VAIOfreak - man, that sucks for original LF owners…
OK>>>> I am in awe!!! The marriage of PSP and LocationFree TV is SOOO WORTH it. I just tried it at home and on the go and I was simply amazed!
I did not really expect a nice crisp picture, especially on the Go mode. TV and other AV media on PSP simply rocks! Everything from the simplicity of the whole set-up to actually connecting and enjoying live TV content is awesome!
Love it! Great addition to PSP…just after Apple annouced iPod video, Sony kicks ass with Locationfree addition.
I hope the Base price goes down, so that other PSP owners will be able to experience it.
Thank you Sony…..just right on my B-day!

Yup, I love it…the PSP is the right mix for LF, huge screen, tiny package.

Which locationfree package did you get?
They have a disk for 29.99, another one for 149.99 and a kit for 349.99
Just get LF-PK1 - is all you need. It comes with Locationfree Player for your PC and a Base. If you need to install on more than one PC, get the $29.99 LF-PC2 software (2 more serial keys).

I will copy the keys from one registry to the other. I am not playing that game It almost makes me wonder when they will start licensing the cycles of my cpu fan before it goes to hell, flashing me a nice message that I need a new one for 19.99 ...

I am not sure what you mean but the keys are stored in the memory of the base-station, not on the registry of the computer. The base-station assigns the key to the MAC of the unit.
If you figure out a way to bypass, please let us know. For testing purposes

Not sure why it keeps quitting on you…when it first came out I was able to upgrade with no problems. As for the fan, yes, I think the base has it and it comes on and off….
