Hi,

Well as we all know the TR2A is a expensive laptop. My question is, could the screen scratch easily. And if so, what’s a good way to protect it?

Well, the only way I can think of is if you buy the privacy filter which would physically cover the screen.

Personally, I just take care to not touch the screen. If I feel like it’s dusty I will either use compressed air and/or a soft cloth (Sony one or Klearscreen one) to clean it. After 6 months for me, the screen is still in pristine condition so I must be doing something right.

Don’t you just hate when you’re showing someone something on your computer and they touch the screen?  It makes me crazy!!

Canned air….like the kind that photographers use. An electronics store carries cans of compressed air. Actually, all kinds of stores carry this item. They sometimes come with a little red straw so you can focus the air.

Just a query, I actually had a look in the VAIO menu that came in with the TR and this is what it says:

Do not use a moist cloth to wipe the LCD. Liquid may cause a malfunction if it leaks into the computer.

So, should I use a slightly moist cloth or not, and if yes how much is not too much?

No, you can use a moist cloth…or rather, a damp cloth. It should still be dry enough so that drops of water don’t come out cloth when you press it. All you really need is a dab of water so that dust stays attracted to the cloth. It’s not like you have to wipe down the entire screen with a wet cloth.

With just a dab of water when you move the cloth over the screen it will still be dry. Try it out and you’ll be happy with the results.

what about the gap btw the keys? let say if there is somehitng in there, what is the best way to take it out? i’m thinking about get one of the compress air to blow it off.

for the keys i would us “electronic-dust-sucka”
