Hi, I have a TR5-mp with a 30gb Hard drive, I have checked the bios and it’s a Hitachi_DK13FA-30D-(PM) . I have no idea what the dimensions are of it, and i don’t particuly want to open it up until i need to? Has anyone got any recomendations of a bigger capacity i can replace it with. 60gb upwards please. My brother, a computer engineer is being his usual helpful self and said if i buy a new hard drive he’ll replace it for me! But is giving me no help in finding a hard drive!

Hope one of you guys can help me, its on its last legs, sticking occasionally and making a horrible noise!

Dont know about the TR5, but that one looks like it would need an adapter for make it fit in a TR3…I am looking for a 60gig for that, to be shipped to a US address….are they all that much, about 200 USD?!? wow.  good luck with the install…it’s easy just follow groovyone’s instructions to the letter.

There are two manufactuers selling 1.8” HDs, Toshiba and Hitachi. The Toshiba uses an Veronica Vanoza-style connector on top, while the Hitachi uses a Ron Jeremy on the side. If your TR/T came with one, you should replace it with the same or you will need an appropriate adapter and bracket.
