anymore info on this camera , just saw it listed on http://www.sonystyle.com…preorder $549.00..im getting $100 e-coupon for buying the tr2ap3, might use it on this camera. how hard is it to get used to not having a normal viewfinder. can the memory stick duo pro work in the memory stick card reader in the tr2 notebooks?

Yes, the Memory Stick Duo works perfectly fine in the MS slot of the TR. It’s a lot faster than regular memory sticks.

The AC Adapter is universal supporting 100-240V.

You get used to not using a viewfinder. Nowadays, how often do most people really use the optical viewfinder on point-and-shoot digital cameras. You see people everyday holding their cameras in front of them to take pix. I think optical viewfinders are still a necessity for prosumer/digital SLR cameras.

my dad has just bought this baby to go with his Canon Digital Rebel (i have one too :D). anyway, i’ve played with it for a while, all i can say is, picture quality is alright, movie quality is superb for its size.

I’ve been playing with mine for a couple of weeks now, and it’s awesome! The movie capability is great, much better than the short 320x240 clips my DSC-P5 puts out. PQ is nice, with less grain and halos than my old digicams. The AF also works really well and is pretty quick to boot. On the bad side, the flash is a bit weak, and even with red-eye reduction on, the location of the flash near the lens still causes a bit of red-eye. I also have to get yet another large-capacity Memory Stick to make full use of the camera, but what’s another $200 in Sony-land?

Well, I finally ordered the DSC-T1.  I got it thru Compusa for the list less 10% off (special they had on the 18th & 129th of the month) bringing it to about $524 including tax.  Shipping was free.  I just got the email that it shipped yesterday.  I can’t wait.  If the quality is anywhere near what people are saying about it, that would be great.  Having a camera that small truly makes it portable enough to take anywhere.  With some of the bigger cameras, sometimes its just to much of a pain to lug around.

Now the DSC-T1 is available in black as well, though I like the silver better.

This is a question to those who owns the DSC-T1.  I own a Sony DSC-P7 or 8 (the one with 4MP) and the autofocus and the shutter speed control aren’t working very well.  For example, if I take a photo of something which has a lot of sunlight on it, the photo will quite often be over exposed.  Does the DSC-T1 suffer from the same problem?  Or am I just not using my camera right?  :shock:

Terribly sorry. I don’t really understand your question about the exposure. The DSC-T1 works pretty well and the autofocus works pretty well. There are various settings for focusing and they all seem to work like they should.

The Memory Stick Duo adapter is exactly the same size as a regular memory stick. That’s the exact dimensions.

Maybe I should just do a bit more playing around with my camera, I’m not someone who tends to play around with the different setups (contrast, exposure etc).

The problem I have sometimes is that when I’m taking a picture of,say , my dog under natural sunlight.  When it’s reasonably bright and I use the auto-focal-plus-everything mode, the picture will be very bright and pale.  I thought perhaps it is a problem (or poor performance) of the auto-adjusting contrast/aperture thingie.

edit:  oh, I was wondering about the size of the power adaptor.

you should really get a DSLR if you want more control over your digicam. check out Canon EOS 300D (Digital Rebel), it’s really a neat DSLR camera that doesn’t cost a fortune.
