My TR was getting a bit dirty so I decided to order the PCGA-CG10 direct from Sony. The cost was about $20. The kit includes a cleaning cloth, a cleaning mit, and a carrying case.

The cloth is nice and soft…the word Vaio is embossed somehow. The mit is soft as well, I was able to fit about 3 fingers in and use it as a wiping mit. The case is clear plastic with a zipper that has the word Vaio on it.

I used the cloth on my screen. It seemed to clean the screen but it left a lot of dust or cloth material behind. I also used the mit to try and clean the screen and something similar happened. As much dust as it removes it seems to leave about as much behind…I can’t tell if it’s the material of the cloth/mit rubbing off or if it’s the dust not being picked up.

Overall I was happy with the quality of the product for $20 but was unhappy with the way it performed. To me, it really didn’t do much beyond push the dust around. I would not buy this product again.

Did you wet the cloth a little? Adding a dab of water (or even a screen cleaner) on the cloth will pickup all of that dust. 

I ended up using Endust but it still seems like the microfiber is coming off the Sony cloth…maybe after a few more uses it will stop ‘shedding’.

Hmmm…  :? Sounds like the cloths you can get at your local glasses store would be better. They don’t shed and are about half the price—with alcohol-based cleaner fluid.

Well, I have the same Sony cloth and it’s not bad but you need to use it with some sort of cleaning solution (like Klearscreen). The Sony cloth is pretty fine though and definitely is gentle enough.

I did find an actual Klearscreen re-useable cloth (it’s like a turquoise color) that works extremely well. I found it at my local MacMall store and it’s also very gentle and cleans the screen well. Unfortunately, i don’t see it on Klearscreen’s site. I’ll see if I can find a link somewhere…
