[quote author=“spartanman”]Has anyone tried using GPRS over Bluetooth on their S-model? I’ve been trying for days but cant connect at one point of the setup or another. If anyone knows how to do it… please share your knowledge.
FYI - I’m trying to connect Sony Ericsson K700i to S170 with internal BT
I use it pretty often with a Sony Ericsson Z600 to S170. First off, you need to have Windows XP SP2 installed and do not use the junky BlueSpace software. Use Windows XP’s built-in Bluetooth control panel to work with your device.
In the connect to dialog box you simply put this:
There’s no password. Leave it blank. Also, make sure you have the Modem - Standard Modem over Bluetooth link selected in the properties. If you don’t have an option for this then you need to do the stuff below.
I’m going to assume you’ve turned Bluetooth on for both devices and have paired them together. Once paired together, your phone should show up in your Bluetooth devices.
Once the phone shows up in your Bluetooth devices. Be sure to click on the device’s properties and look at the services tab. There you must check off the box for Dial-Up Networking.
Also, I’m going to assume you have set up the correct services with your provider and have your phone configured for GPRS connections. If you haven’t setup your phone and you have T-Mobile, you can use this nifty tool to send a SMS message to your phone with the settings.
