[quote author=“Prolepsis”][quote author=“Gilbert”][quote author=“gr00vy0ne”][quote author=“Prolepsis”]Assuming that CNET uses the same tests between laptops:
Sony T250 - 385 minutes
Sony TX - 396 minutes
Sony T350 - 366 minutes
I am wondering how the LED-based screen is. CNET doesn’t seem to be impressed with it.
For a reviewer who obviously has a negative bias towards Sony, it’s humorous that it’s still the Editor’s Choice with a score of 8.1. Does this person even understand the purpose of an ultraportable?
I stopped reading CNET long time ago. Half of their reviews don’t make much sense. They also praise the DELL X1, which in a total piece of crap.
Haha, fair enough. I like to look at their battery tests, because they run Mobilemark 2002 for all laptops. It gives me a starting point, at least.
They often praise Dell laptops because who else buys the highest number of ads on their site… :? The Dell X1 isn’t crap I have one (and a Sony T250) and they both have their pros and cons.
We’re still bloody slow in getting cool computers in Canada. :( I’m hoping someone who buys the TX elsewhere will be able to comment on how sturdy the screen’s lid is, now that it’s so cool and thin!
Man,
I had a X1 from my work for 3 days. The screen was so bad, the lack of drive, the keyboard felt like it will fall apart any moment, and the touchpad felt so cheap, it is beyond reasonable. Also I had one of the touchpad buttons fell down in the process.
I might bitch at sony for their pricing nonsense, although the T’s and the TR’s are built to last. Can’t say the same thing for the S Series, especially for the 4xx model.
