It’s been four years since the terrible terrorist attacks against our country took place, and most Americans don’t believe we’re any safer today than we were shortly after those attacks occurred (when security across the country increased).  After that event took place, I downloaded just about every single image that showed up on Yahoo’s website, because I know that most of them would be gone forever.  My special 9/11/01 section is back online for you to view, so that none of us ever forget what happened four years ago.  I know most of us will never forget it, but a lot of us take things for granted so it’s a good refresher of just how fragile life really is.

I still remember the day like it was yesterday…getting ready to go to school, watching TV, which was cut into to watch the burning tower…then live seeing the second plane hit.

Knowing that the Saturday before was the last time I would ever see the NYC skyline the same way…

And to top it all off, its one of my best friend’s birthday…I was on the phone with him for hours because we are in the same class and we were talking about not going. The only one who remembered his birthday was his sister…he forgot himself. He feels bad partying on 9/11 so now we do it on 9/10.

I knew plenty of people in the towers…some got out, other’s didn’t. Never Forget.

atleast i know it wasn’t in vain…  i’ll never forget, and i’m extra thankful at how much closer our nation has become.

How close has it become? Everyone from middle-east is discriminated against, even if they’ve been an American citizen for years. No doubt the terrorists had been far too extreme in claiming that many lives, but I don’t think war against nations or discrimination will solve anything, and apparently that’s the route most Americans chose when they re-elected George Bush.

I remember exactly where i was. Driving towards a friends house warming party and my dad calls up telling me about what was going on. It was so unreal, planes crashing into WTC, NY. Everything closed down, i remember they shut heathrow down for about 2 days. We couldnt have ever expected something like this to happen, its only later after all the media hype we realized how it was on the cards for so long.

It’s probably worth noting that the threat to the British public in general from IRA violence decreased dramatically after Britain switched to a policy of engagement.
