I’ve been looking at a few WebCams recently and I think both the Sony WebCam tifosiv122 reviewed and the Logitech WebCam found at: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=690,CONTENTID=10168
seems to fit my needs, but the biggest complaint I would have for the Sony Visual Communication Camera would be the adhesive tapes. I’m wondering whether the Logitech Camera has to use adhesive tapes as well. And if not would it even fit X505? And lastly, how big is the actual camera? If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.
The Sony Visual Communication Camera sits well on X505 and does not need any adhesive tape to hold it. The webcam itself is not too big but is not slender as X505.

I just bought this camera yesterday…and its going back today. It doesnt fit on my X nor my U. I got it for the U mostly because I thought it fit the design well, but its just a hair too small and it pops off.
As you can see the Sony camera has a much smaller opening, perfect for the X…and the “spacer” that Logitech gives you for smaller notebooks looks dumb IMO.

Yeah its not exactly tape, its that rubber stuff thats semi-sticky.
They have not necessarily dropped that idea. Their new BX series will feature Motion Eye (available as an option when you CTO), some of the desktops released in JP have Motion Eye also built into LCDs.
Thank guys, I guess I’ll just have to go with the Sony Communication Camera since the Logitech doesn’t fit… Shame, I actually like the Logitech design a tad better.
