My brother wants to take a copy of his work website on his laptop so he can take it to clients and use it. It’s a gallery so has lots of artists pictures on etc.
I’ve been trying to find a program which will do this properly, without paying for it. Anyone know of any thing to fit the job?
I’ve tried one or two I found but I think they struggled with the javascript on the page.
I think it’s Flash that’s the problem. Most of the links, particularly to the artist pages, are links in a Flash movie, not actual HTML hyperlinks. Best thing to do would probably be to get some sort of FTP access to the site and download it in one shot.
You have no idea how long I have been looking for a rectangular painting to hang above my couch. I keep going to local art galeries and they seem to have nothing and have no idea why I want a rectangular painting.

The site’s not very purple. :?
Yeah I guess flash would also screw things up…
Considering my brother always phones me when there’s a problem with their computers I doubt anyone there could deal with FTP even if they could get access! Cheers anyway.

Erik
Well the space above the sofa is probably rectangular so you want something to fit into the space comfortably. Have you considered a big rectangular mirror? Always good for making your room look bigger and improving the light quality :D
Erik, you could just hang 3 corresponding square pictures next to each other  ... (unless that was some inside joke dealing with the website or sumthing… the link to the website didnt work for me)

Dude, that’s what a girl would do. They would put up 10 pictures of themselves and their friends all different sizes in no descernable pattern just to fill up the space. A real man would put up a single picture, preferably with no frame and ideally of something violent. Note that still life is a bad choice. Road signs are also good, especially if you’ve stolen the sign yourself. For red-staters, the heads of game animals will work, as will firearms.

Well I have my brother to thank for that idea. He’s done it in his sitting room and he’s going to do it above the bath as well.
Oh and if anyone wants to see my brother’s newest pictures (of semi-naked women no less) just let me know and I’ll email them as i don’t have anywhere to host them anymore. Oh and they don’t come with frames

I agree that is a good idea. I am going to look into that. On my flight this morning I saw an Ad for this company that blows up a pic you took into a huge painting sized thing for only $99. They can also use Pshop and do some artistic stuff for like $10 more…and they make it so you dont need a frame…I might do that, i’ve taken a ton of pics (non-nude) that id love to hang.
