I wont have access to my X until the 31st, if nobody posts it by then, I will.
ok thx, but this is only lil bit of probs what happened ... since the keyboard swap the nipple, keypads and the fn key dont show any reaction, only workable via plugged usb mouse .. also the led lights above and below the keyboard dont light and blink any more ... not enough, those f*cking bastards from local sony service seem to have broken a part near the battery where the rubber foot is, just made a snapshot to visualise
This thread convinced me to play around with my computers (V505EX and X505ZP).
I extracted VAIO Power Management from my Recovery DVD and attempted installation on my V505EX.
Unlike most situations where software from one model would fail to install on another (“This program was not designed for your computer” or some such error), the program installed.
I got a warning that Msvcp70.dll and Msvcr70.dll were read-only and needed to be over-written. Responded Yes to both and the install went without a hitch.
So .. I have VAIO Power Management running on my V505EX and it seems to be working fine.
Discovered upon un-installing the program that my power settings in the default Power Settings in Control Panel were all greyed out and could find no way to re-enable them (even System Restore to a point before my fiddling wouldn’t bring them back). Reinstalled VAIO Power Management and they’re suddenly back .. so obviously there were some things removed (might even be the two files that were over-written by the install .. too lazy to uninstall again and test .. both are Microsoft files, with the Properties Sheet saying they’re part of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET).
PowerPanel doesn’t even seem to mind the program running simultaneously (though I disabled the startup because there’s no sense having both programs take resources full time since they basically do the same thing). Performance Balancer also seems to play nice .. settings from all three program, as well as those from the default Power Options applet in Control Panel, copy from one to another.
In any event: yes, I know how to extract the applications from my Recovery DVD to get at the individual setup files. If anyone’s interested in how, etc., post me a private message.

Everyone who swapped the keyboard broke that part…it’s nothing new.
Erik
ok, thx
erik, could u post the part no which is needed in this case?
although seeming to be normal, im not quite happy about that
is it also possible that due to that swap, maybe because of cables, etc. that the led lights, 3 each below and above the keyboard and the nipple with the keypads dont work or showing no reaction?

Sure, but again, that will have to wait until I get home on the 31st. Yeah I haven’t heard anyone else with that problem, it is most likely something they did wrong, I would bring it back to them right away.
