what’s a different betwwen AC16V6 and V7

Sony Japan did not publish the specification of AC16V7 indepth; merely stating that the AC16V7 is compatible for both Type T and U series.

In addition, there’s another AC Adaptor: AC16V8, which appears to be bundled with certain Type T series as well. VGP-AC16V8 is scheduled for sale on Oct 2, 2004.

if anyone’s still interested, I picked up an AC16V7 off ebay a while back for 50 bucks and have been using it with my TR3AP without any problems so far. There are a couple on ebay I believe. Someone mentioned that it is thicker than the v6. It’s not. It’s the same thickness and much shorter. Cheers, Art

I’m pretty sure the ones on ebay are not OEM ones. My Sony X505-CP came with the small adapter, I can take some pictures if you guys wants. The plug that plugs into the computer has a little green light that tells you whether the power supply is plugged in or not. Anyways I’ll upload some pictures in abit.

Ye I got a few things from him as well for VAIO U. I guess he finally realized he was charging low… Anyways, that AC adapter can be purchased through Sony parts for $51.
I was not sure that my VAIO X505 can be used with it until I read this thread. The only difference that I see is the output/input A (ampers?) numbers. AC16V6 (AC for X505, TR, Z series) lists Input: 1.4A - 0.8A Output: 4A. I do not have AC16V7 on me to compare right now. If those A measures do not really matter, than it would be definitely a neat AC to use with our babies.  :wink:

My VGP-AC16V7 lists 0.8-0.5A input, and 2.2A output. It’s the original X505-CP adapter so obviously it works fine with my X505, so I’m assuming the amps don’t really matter.
