is the fan noisy or like.. what?

It’s very quiet - almost silent.  Only occasionally hear it in a quiet room when doing heavy processing and its spinning at full speed.  The noisiest part is the hard drive which makes a clackety clack sound at times but its pretty quiet most of the time too.

so like from a scale from 1-10 how loud would you rate it?

Ha Ha.  I’d rate it a 10 if that’s of any use to you at all.

It really depends on what you’re used to. Compared to my original Fujitsu Loox T (which as fanless), it’s a little noticeable in a quiet room. For the most part, it’s fairly quiet even with a full load. At the worst , it’s simply a whisper.

You won’t notice it in most cases.

The only time I ever heard (or felt) the CPU fan was when my TR didn’t hibernate properly and I left it in my neoprene case for a few hours. My battery still hasn’t forgiven me.
