Windows Vista Beta 1 on a TR

I was wondering if any of you guys have tried that yet. I am downloading the latest Longhorn build, 5048, and as soon as I get it, I am planning on installing it im my TR3A. I am plannig on setting up a dual boot system.

If any of you has already tried that, I would apreciate any pointers.

I’m game, where can I get it? I was able to do this back when XP was in the testing phase, but forgot where I signed up.

Longhorn isn’t available to the general public yet. Windows Vista will be in public beta at some point in the near future. Let’s not post links to warez please. Thanks.

Some 1st tier partners are getting today but the rest of the “legit” crowd will have access to it starting August 3rd. It’s nice that they’re actually at a Beta stage but the “real” beta won’t be until Beta 2 when a majority of the features are in and more polish has been added. Most reports say that Beta 1 is more a lower level release to test the plumbing for issues and compatibility.

I also forgot to add that most of the mobile/notebook optimizations won’t be in Beta 1. You’ll have to wait for Beta 2 for all that good stuff. I suspect all the power management features aren’t implemented yet so you could expect worse battery performance than what you’re already getting.
