Hey all,

THis has been an ongoing problem and I’m just tired of it.

The cursor moves without my touching the nub.  It just drifts up and down for some time.  AFter a while it’ll go away.

Anyone else having this problem?

according to the Sony Tech I spoke with: re-install the software, that’ll fix it. “But Sir, the laptop is BRAND NEW”. “The driver is corrupt, re-install the software..” but the laptop has NO software installed on it… , “the driver is corrupt.. ” so on and so forth…  bwhahaha. that’s what happened to my TR3A before..

ye, I actually noticed that as well. Sometimes the cursor on my X505 would go up without me touching it. It would stop doing that in a 1-2 mins. Strange….

It’s a hardware problem. I’ve seen it on IBM laptops every once in a while. Usually what I did was push the eraser head the opposite way a bit and it stopped. Unfortunately, you’ll probably have to get Sony to replace the part having the problem. On the IBMs, it was usually the motherboard that had to be replaced.

My X does it as does my U. All nipple tips will do it for whatever reason. Unlike the IBMs which u can push it till it stops, this doesn’t work for the Sony’s…just sit back, watch it move for a few seconds, and it goes away.

...I had the same problem on one of the first generation Sony
Picturebooks. (CX1, I think). I tried everything, including the very
helpful “re-install everything.”

I was the hardware for the nub. I found a site that sold replacement
keyboards for the picturebook, and replaced it.

Sorry man - I know how annoying it is to watch that thing drift to to
the lower righthand side of the screen…
