My mum currently has a Dell Dimension L733r which has a PIII 733 in it.  I was thinking of speeding things up a little for her, but the current motherboard is pretty useless, but I want to keep the case as it fits under the desk really well.

My problem is that I don’t know if I can replace the motherboard or not.  I don’t know if it’s a standard size and the power supply is a strange hinged affair, I believe to keep the depth of the case down.

Most dell units can’t be upgraded as they use their own Motherboards and proprietary power supplies. PC Power and Cooling sells some Power supplies that hook up to dell motherboards.
