Now that the TR3A models are out there do you think it’s possible for an upgrade to those of us with the TR2A models?

Will SONY make available the DVD internal burner as a spare part?

Yes and no.

Sony will not make the part generally available to consumers.

Sony Service Centers will probably be able to order the part in order to repair TR3AP3s.

So, it won’t be a part that you can buy at your local electronics store but it’s probably very possible to get the part in a few months if you can convince a service center to order it for you.
