See extension cable and same internal USB? I think this is the trick.

I’ve read some places that Sony uses the Alps bluetooth module, so I did some poking around.

I suspect the proper part is “UGPZ1”.

I called around to some Alps dealers, but none of them could figure out how to sell me one of these.

Use the Dell cable with the Toshiba module? That way you won’t lose the HID profile - not supported by Dell.

gr00vy0ne once again you kick butt.  At least we are getting a little closer.  I was also going to ask about a ribbon connector to be able to place the Bt module elsewhere.  This would also allow you to see about software.  If you do get it connected what software/drivers do you plan to use.

If it is seen as a USB module then I have seen plenty of decrippled Widcomm software out there, and from what I understand you can just add an entry to the drivers .inf file to detect your hardware, but I think it is only feasible with a USB connection.

So even if we solve the hardware problem will we have a software issue?  ie: specifically drivers.  Or are these available from Sony?

Have you tried just calling Sony?  I know, huge longshot, but you never know.  Maybe one of the techs, sometimes you can get them into a conversation.
